Only one week to go for the big showcase of Beat Love Oracle in CC Casino Sint Niklaas.
At the same time I want to say the record ‘Who’s counting?’ (recorded and produced by Jeff Nuyttens) of Beat Love Oracle is ready to be release:
One week ago, Casco Phil conducted by Ben Haemhouts performed really brilliantly three times ‘Tanstaafl’ for 15 musicians. This longish piece (about 40 minutes) took many people by surprise. The emotional impact of this piece turned out to be almost unprecedented in my output. One member of the audience said afterwards, that it seemed to him that I just have presented my own Space Odyssey to the world 🙂 I myself call it my ‘Mini Mahler’. A nice wordplay, but the musicians were anything but ‘mini’: I guess Mahler himself would gladly invited them in his orchestra. And Ben Haemhouts really conducted his musicians to stellar quality. A very memorable day and not in the least for me…
I have all the reasons to thank Veerle Simoens, the director of the festival for choosing, me for this project….
Hereunder, one of the soloists, clarinetist Raf De Keninck, the viola player Paul de Clerck (who’s showing only his back 🙂 and violoncello player Aleksandra Lelek, between performances 1 & 2:
And now one last thing whic makes we me very happy: at last we got a very positive review of the latest CD releases of the sonatas in the magazine Pianist.
In the next blog more about this magazine. The next issue might also feature an interview with me about this enduring project.
Wish you all a great and vibrant new cultural season!
