After 17 years of ‘thinking sonata’, I now can say that th’ ‘sonata project’ is finished. Last Saturday, March 16 2019, the three CDs featuring sonatas 19 to 24, and sonatas 1B, 2 (new recording) & 9 (first complete recording) have been presented in Ghent. Most of the pianists attended the event, whom were asked to comment the favourite 45″ of their sonata. The audience only heard these seconds, acting as a very effective teaser. Only Roland and Katerina couldn’t make it: they sent a short video instead.
Hereby I want to thank, once again, all the pianists concerned: Liang-yu Wang (Taiwan) , Roland Peelman (Australia), Gabi Sultana (Malta), Keiko Schichijo (Japan), Luc Van Loo, Barbara Baltussen, Katerina Konstantourou (Greece) & Iris de Blaere, the latter also featuring too as my beloved partner in crime(s) 🙂
The event itself started with the first performance of the first movement of ‘Code Buster’ for oboe solo, incomparably performed by Piet Van Bockstal, of Ensemble Ictus fame.
Meanwhile I’m proud to say that ‘Totu su mundo est paesu’ for clarinet solo, and composed for Raf De Keninck is finished. It’s a companion piece to the above mentioned oboe piece.
And lastly, Beat Love Oracle (check the new site!) http://www.beatloveoracle.behas now performed their first official concerts to great public acclaim. The band as well as the audience were happy with the results of almost two years of rehearsing of the featured repertoire. Let’s hope that the band is allowed to go on stage regularly from now on. We’re all waiting for you call 🙂
