A new year! And I’m proud to say I started this year with finishing a new piece for oboe solo. ‘Code Buster (an optimist’s game)’
Inspired by all things cyber. And mainly these books: books ‘The formula’ by Luke Dormehl and ‘The rise and fall of software recipes’ by Darius Blasband.
The piece is commissioned by the great player Piet Van Bockstal who’s member of the famous Belgian Ictus Ensemble. I silently hope my piece might one day become a kind of rival ot Britten’s ‘Metamorphoses’. One can always dream 🙂
Before that I finished two other pieces: for violoncello and piano for the famous duo Tom Landschoot-Liang-yu. Also a big piece, this ‘They could see now shadow’.
And another one for two tenor recorders. Composed for the German/Belgium duo Apsara: ‘Sa¨len der Stille’. To be performed in Brandenburg.
Might take a couple of days rest now.
But not before wishing you all a very nice and effervescent 2019!!!!
