This blog post is a reminder: Friday October 6th, the ‘Modern Crossover Quartet’ Beat Love Oracle will perform 9 songs live in Trefpunt Concert Hall (Bij Sint Jakobs, as it was formerly known, now Walter De Buck plein, Ghent. ). Doors open at ±8:45 PM.
Beat Love Oralce is a spin off of Hardscore: the four musicians play in the mother band. (by the way: we’ll play the first complete performance of ‘Carbon Fixations later this month (October 26th in De Bijloke Ghent)
Next Friday, the set will feature 7 songs by me and two by the saxophone player Frank De Bruyne. There are no seats in the hall, so we decided to limit duration of the concert: one hour max.
Meanwhile we’ll shoot a little movie and live photos. It would be fun if we feel some buzz coming from the audience. Feet tapping, heads nodding, happy faces: there’s nothing better for a musician to notice this kind of audience participation while playing. Especially when a new band brings new material for the first time.
We’ve rehearsed hard. And will rehearse even some harder tomorrow. Each piece is rather demanding for the players, but in the end not hard on the ears.
This is not mere selling talk, it’s a promise. We selected for Friday a bunch of fast songs, for our hearts will beat fast I guess. So we want to stay abreast 🙂
Frank the marimba, Frank the saxophone(s), Stijn the 5 sting bass and Ronald the drums are very much looking forward to meet you there and then!
